If the shoe fits, wear it.

I bring you some shoe porn today since I, er, bought 3 pairs of shoes the past month. I knowww! This addiction is getting slightly ridiculous but they make me so blissfully happy whenever I look at them ~_~

If you know me well enough, you would know that my entire shoes collection are made of flats and skyscraper heels 4″ high and above. I’m no fan of kitten heels and anything below the magical 4″ number because I think kitten heels produce an opposite effect; instead of lengthening your legs, they make you appear thicker in the legs..kinda like a walking tree stump in heels – not so hot.

BUT BUT BUT! I will make the exception to my 4″ rule if a) the shoes are REALLY cute b) the heel height is above 3″ c) it’s well-made and I think my new pair of heels are just that ;D

AREN’T THEY JUST ADORABLE? *_* They’re 3.5″ high and come in this incredibly pretty pewter grey color. I got them at EARLGREYPARTY which is an online shop owned by my friend, Furry! She brings in a great range of shoes and clothes direct from Korea that don’t cost an arm, a leg and your first born child!

We were both in design school together and she decided after graduation to start up her own online shop (such a risk-taker, I love it!). I think she has an amazing taste in fashion, she knows what we girls want so I highly recommend that you check her site out! The site is currently undergoing a major makeover but if you go to the website, there’s a special promotion going on where you enter your email address and you get to win some awesome discount coupons! Oh and she ships worldwide too, cool beans.

Let’s get over the cute and move on to the SEX. I LOVE MY NEW ANKLE BOOTS! I like the classic design, no stupid studs, no feathers poking out – just full on suede. It’s just sexy and timeless. This was the last pair in my size at the recent TOPSHOP sale, I tried them on with absolutely no intention of buying but once they were on my feet, that was the end of it lol. I ~HAD~ TO HAVE IT.

heel

I love the spikey heel, I hope I don’t step on anyone when I wear the shoes out because it will probably hurt like a mother. Speaking of mothers, it’s my mom’s birthday today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMEH! ✿ We’ll be having her birthday dinner at the Hyatt Hotel this weekend so I can’t wait for that! I hope she likes my present (I got her some lipstuff from Estee Lauder & MAC) Ok *COUGH* BACK TO SHOES.

So from the cute to the sexy, we now move on to the PRACTICAL. I don’t wear heels everyday because a) I don’t have a car b) I don’t have a chauffeur to drive me around c) I don’t want to kill my feet before I’m 40 and fabulous.

papillio

papillio-closeup

I bought these Papillio Birkenstock sandals online, they’re actually one size bigger (it was on sale so they only had one size left) but I don’t mind because they are extremely comfortable and they’re nice to look at! I am loving the metallic steel blue texture and the lil’ crystals embedded at the side ♥

burberry

In the shoes-I-can-never-afford category, Christopher Bailey’s Burberry leather ankle boots are my current faves! It’s crazy-chunky but that’s why I want it!

Til next time~

The tailored blazer and a rant about money

Wow have I been MIA or what *nervous laughter* I have a really bad problem – I am just terrible with money. I think it would be an amusing hobby for you guys to just sit back and watch how I spend my okane (tis the japanese word for money) Let’s break down my shopping addiction in simple point form so you can fully understand how much of a savvy obsessed shopper I can be am.

♥ Every morning when I reach work, I check my emails like a good, responsible employee…but as Gmail loads, I’m busy looking at another tab which has Forever21.com loaded (MY GOD AREN’T TABS THE GREATEST INVENTION AFTER MOZILLA FIREFOX?!) F21 updates their website daily every morning (about 8:20am Singapore time) and as much as I feel that pretty much 60% of their stuff are trashy, the rest are good if you want to get some basics for layering or one-off pieces.

♥ SHOES, duh. I have no qualms spending a maximum of $150 on a pair of shoes I really really like. Whenever I see a pair I die over and while most girls would just take a step back and take some time to think “Hrm, would I wear this?” “Is the heel too high?” “Is it practical?” “Do I have clothes in my closet I can actually pair the shoes with?” “Do I have something similar already?” – well you can shove it, honey because I’m already at the counter paying for the shoes.

♥ Zara and Mango sales are bad for the wallet. Srsly. Most months I can *somewhat* manage my finances and some months I’m just dead broke. Those months I’m short of cash? You can trust that a Mango or Zara sale happened sometime in those months. Anyway, side tracking here – HOW CRAPPY WAS THE MANGO SALE LAST SEASON OMG?! The clothes were uninspired, dull and just gross (well, luckily for my wallet there was nothing much to buy lol).

♥ Ion Orchard. This shopping mall opened less than a month ago and already I am proclaiming it my favourite mall in Singapore. It’s just…beautiful. I love the architecture, the range of shops (from Louis Vuitton, miu miu to high street brands like New Look, Topshop etc) Obviously Topshop isn’t something new here but the clothes in their store in Ion seem to look better and their racks are more organised somehow? It could be just a placebo effect but whatever, I love it.

jacket1-1

I actually bought a blazer from Topshop a week ago because one day I woke up and randomly decided to buy one more blazer to add to my teeny tiny collection. Ok no, I lied. I was just walking into Topshop at Ion Orchard and omg they had so many pretty blazers on display! I eventually fell in love with this peachy nude blazer, such an unconventional color I know raitttt – which was tailored pretty well for Topshop standards and it was slightly nipped at the waist so OK MUST HAVE, PEOPLE, MUST HAVE.

Blazers are actually versatile pieces any girl (or guy) should have. Wear the slouchiest outfit you can manage, throw in a beautifully tailored blazer (if you have the money, I would suggest getting one from Yves Saint Laurent but if you’re poor like me – Topshop & Zara aren’t bad) and you have casual chic going on bb.

Nippon Vogue actually had a feature on the tailored blazer in the issue last month which I thought was nicely done, so here they are!
