Just CHANEL.

Carine dedicated a whole issue of Vogue Paris to CHANEL and according to my fashion bitch, Aaron, it is an absolute godsend. Argh I hope it’s not sold out at Kinokuniya.

I hate you arty farty people, including you, Aaron! Aaron sketched out a model from a previous ad campaign, told me to guess who it was and I could have sworn it was Anja Rubik but well I was wrong - it’s Angela Lindvall in a Chloe F/W 2003 campaign. Despite my mistake, I must say Angela looks like Anja in the photo! It’s a lovely drawing, Aaron so shut up, stop bitching and sketch out more!
Yeah tea noir is back with a new layout. I got rid of the old magazine-ish inspired layout because it wasn’t very “me”. Being trained in webdesign has made me appreciate layouts with beautiful grids but I’ve always had this vision (ooh big word) of tea noir being a casual, less-structured site with free-flowing entries. I’ve also made it more personal by adding some of my webdesign trademarks i.e patterns, textures. I’m still figuring out whether the alignment/color of certain elements fit together but whatever, I’m happy with this for now. Changes can always be made periodically anyway ;D

Carine Roitfeld Revealed.
Posted by ilyana | Filed under Fashion
I think all of us with an interest in high fashion have always wondered what it’s like to be an editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine, the behind the scenes look - but sadly, nobody really knows what actually goes on behind the locked doors of the world’s most influential fashion magazines. I’m sure we’ve all watched The Devil Wears Prada but we need a taste of the real deal!
It’s all about to change with the release of a feature documentary film “The September Issue” which lets people like you and me (basically the ones who go “OMFG DID YOU SEE HOW DISASTROUS RODARTE WAS?!”) take a rare insight look into Anna Wintour’s VOGUE US HQ and the 9 months leading up to the September issue (for those of you non-fashion folk, the september issue every year is considered the blockbuster of all issues with an average of 800-900 pages) The documentary was already aired in Sundance and will air only in US theaters if I’m not wrong but FRET NOT!

CNN has featured VOGUE PARIS editor-in-chief, Carine Roitfeld, for their half hour Revealed video segments and it aired yesterday on CNN. Cameras followed Carine everywhere during fashion week in NY and mostly Paris but you also get to hear her thoughts on her family, her work and also addressing the rumors that she might be taking over Queen Bee over at Vogue US in true french style. The video also has mini interviews with so many designers - Tom Ford, Hedi Slimane, Karl Lagerfeld and even her children, Julia and Vladimir.
Psst! You can even see 5 seconds of Anna and Carine in a brief conversation - you can tell they’re not very fond of each other lol.
I love Carine - her style is just amazing. She’s got that elusive french allure about her which is just spot on. The Vogue Paris team are always sharply dressed with their mix of Balenciaga, Margiela, Givenchy and Alaia. VOGUE PARIS > Vogue US without a doubt.

A dress made of dreams + MAC Hello Kitty.

On payday, I always tell myself - “I WILL SAVE! I WILL SAVE!” and at the end of the month when I’m down to my last few hundreds or er god forbid, dollars, there is always ALWAYS something I just desperately need *cough* like this figure skater dress from American Apparel for example:

If anyone’s curious, I ordered this in Charcoal which is such a sultry shade of gray. A little girl’s dress in a sexy sexy color.
The Nylon Tricot Figure Skater Dress is certainly the kind of dress I’ve been dreaming about for the past 20 years of my life, I can’t ice skate for shit but seeing Kristy Yamaguchi on tv back in those days have often made me prance (perhaps not as gracefully) around my room, with a blanket tied around my waist, pretending it was a lovely floaty mini dress that flowed, sashayed with every movement I made. American Apparel has a 15% store wide discount code available on their online store til the end of this month so this is the best time to get your AA fix!
Meanwhile, I need to work on my saving but..MAC + HELLO KITTY LAUNCHES THIS FRIDAY IN SINGAPORE! Is anyone getting anything from the collection? I know there was a pre-launch a week ago and when I got to MAC the next day, 90% of everything was sold out wtf. We have some srs MAC HELLO KITTY fanatics right here and I’m not so sure if that’s a good thing lol - KEEP YE KITTY PAWS OFF MY LIMITED EDITION LIPGLASS!!!
But it’s alright though because even if I don’t get my lipglass, I reserved Moon River from the Grand Duos collection! I tried it at the MAC counter yesterday and it was the most divine, ethereal looking silvery pink blush ever!

Beauty trends @ Anna Sui Fall 2009

Lots of black eyeliner around the eyes, smoked out with some subtle neutral eyeshadow, matte rosy cheeks with just a dab of shimmer on the cheekbones, a muted tea rose lip color with brown undertones and you’re all set.
Sorry I’ve not been updating much - work’s been a beech! I’ll be going on a short weekend getaway so i’ll post more when I get back.

With wind in her hair, an amazing coat, the right accessories - that black ring she has on, her gold bracelets and of course, that brilliant flash of red on her feet.
