Welcome to tea noir, a concoction of style, beauty, food and photography. I’m Ilyana, writer/blogger and creator of tea noir. I’m a former web designer turned university student who splits her time between Singapore (home), Australia (school) and Tokyo (in my sleep).

tea noir is a side project I created out of sheer madness; a madness largely attributed to the frustrations of being subjected to the stereotype that hijab-wearing muslim women (such as myself) do not have opinions on style and beauty. We do.

Think of tea noir as a potent mix of the pretty things I relish and covet, delivered to you like a daily cup of black tea. It’s got snippets of my favourite recipes and some notes on my personal life, all layered with, God forbid, my own brand of smart ass humour.
