Lipstick Party

So after a lot of buzz on Youtube on NYX round lipsticks, I finally placed an order in a Cherryculture.com spree for 5 lippies just to try them out. NYX lipsticks are awesomely cheap (They used to cost USD$0.99 but it’s been marked up to $2.00 - still cheap tho) and come in more than a hundred shades I kid you not.
They come in different finishes as well, from matte to shimmer so if you’re new to make-up or just want to add more lip colors to your collection, NYX is the way to go.
I went to google the ass out of these lipsticks to look for swatches because we all know how accurate the colors on the website can be. You think you’ve placed an order for a muted pink lipstick but what you get in the mail could be shocking fuchsia, not hot so it’s best to look for swatches online. There a couple of video swatches on Youtube so go check it out if you’re interested.
I placed an order for the lipstick shades in Thalia, Doll, Lala, Indian Pink & Topaz.

Thalia is a gorgeous gorgeous nude shade which I am SO IN LOVE WITH. I swear since I’ve gotten this, I’ve been using it everyday lol.
It’s kinda like a brown-pink with a slight almost undetectable lilac undertone. It neutralises my lips pretty well so loveeeee it. Thalia’s a matte lipstick and it goes on really pigmented + creamy!

Unlike Thalia, Indian Pink (btw what a pretty name omg!) is a lipstick with shimmer…kinda like MAC’s lustre lipsticks. It’s quite a versatile shade and is universally flattering in my opinion.
It’s a rosey pink with gold shimmer. It actually reminds me of MAC’s melon and rose pigments so if MAC ever created a lipstick based on those two pigments, you’d be sure it’ll look like Indian Pink.

Lala’s another matte shade. When I first saw the swatch online, I was really blown away by how unique the color was. On the swatch it appeared as a rather unique cool toned deep pink and dude, you have no idea how weird this shade is.
In the tube, it appears as a dark pink - almost violet actually. When I swatched it, it appears as a deep pink and when I tried it on my lips HOLY CRIPES LOL, please do not buy this guys…it was fricking purple on my lips. Def not wearable.

I’ve not actually tried Doll and Topaz yet but I’m sure they won’t be as weird as Lala (fingers crossed!) Doll’s kinda like a deep pink with cool undertones and Topaz is a shimmery ruby shade with gold shimmer yumm!
Swatches are at the bottom!

Overall, I really like the NYX round lipsticks. They’re cheap, come in a variety of shades to suit each skintone and are quite pigmented!
The lipsticks have sort of a lovely tea rose scent, which kinda reminds me of the old perfumes they used back then. I’m quite happy with the lipsticks I got, although Lala is really odd but hey! It’s only $2.00 so there’s not really much of a loss there!

March 3rd, 2009 at 11:22 pmAre the lipsticks against animal testing?

Yes, the lipsticks are against animal testing. I checked on my lipstick tube and it says at the side that they are cruelty-free and hypo allerginic as well.
Hope that answers your question and thank you for reading! ;D -

@ nat
Thanks for the comment Nat! ;D
Anyway, indian pink is a really nice color you can pair with a lipgloss! anyway thalia in my opinion is ylbb (your lips but better for those who don’t know what that means lol) but it may not be flattering on everyone because it’s actually kinda cool toned dirty pink but I say give it a shot ;D It actually is a little similar to Modesty.
