A thought on blushes + MAC grand duos collection.

I’ve been a little obsessed with blushes lately. I know most people just stop at having one blush shade or god forbid, no blushes in their make-up collection at all! I believe that blush is an essential make-up item and having more than just one shade of blush lets you pull off a variety of looks. Say you have some pretty natural eye make-up on and using a slightly darker blush (applied with a light hand, of course) would give you a more dramatic look. Using a light pink blush, however, would enhance your natural eye make-up and give you an everyday flush. It’s sexy either way.

Most people use bronzers to contour their cheekbones but most bronzers nowadays are pretty shimmery so if you’re not careful you could end up like a glitter tranny mess. Definitely not hot. Another alternative is to go to the make-up counters at your mall and pick the scariest shade of blush there….which would most likely be either
a dark burgundy red or a dark chocolate brown. Please don’t get the red one, nobody contours with red…unless of course it’s for a macabre costume party. The chocolate brown shade would be perfect for contouring but of course it all depends on your skintone.

MAC is coming up with a limited edition collection of blushes due to be released in March in the US. I FRICKING CAN’T WAIT FOR IT. Everyone knows MAC is pretty famous for their Mineralize Skinfinish (MSF), multicolored minerals individually baked onto a pan in a kiln in Italy - sooo hardcore. They can be used for many things, as a highlight, blush whatever - they just rock. MAC’s out to get my money next month when they release these dual blushes - half of a blush pot with straight up shimmery color and the other half has got a similar MSF to match the blush. Mix them up or use them separately, enjoy the pictures but remember, nothing beats looking at the actual products themselves.

I am all over Moon River! Such an uncommon color, the six year old in me loves it because of it’s almost rainbow-like spectrum of colors…..kinda like the Paddlepop rainbow ice cream LOL. So tell me, which shades are you guys just loving?

    @ Fatin

Coincidentally I just called my fave MAC counter and got them to reserve Moon River for me. I’m thinking about whether to get Love Rock as well, I’ll check it out when I collect my Moon River this week haha!

What’s Earth to Earth like on your skin? It looks like such an interesting color! I’ve not gotten the chance to actually play with all the Grand duos blushes on display at MAC, only Moon River sadly.
